Watermelons are fun and colorful and a great craft subject. This watermelon craft is great as a little homemade sign, or you can simplify it for kids to paint by eliminating the faux finish and changing the hanger to yarn or ribbon. Using craft sticks is a great way to create a plaque when you don’t have one handy. So today, let’s make a watermelon!
This is a fun themed craft for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day or just for a general summer project. Makes a fun decoration for a child’s room too. Instead of the word “sweet” use the scrabble letters to write your child’s name.
There’s a printable version below, but basically you’ll paint the craft sticks and glue them together, then wrap some wire around a pencil to use as a hanger. Attach the hanger and the scrabble letters, and put some felt on the back to protect your wall from the wire. That’s it!
Hope you are having a wonderful summer :)
