Plastic Spoon Craft: Felt Flowers

Who knew you could turn plastic spoons into pretty flowers? This is a fun summer craft for kids to decorate their room or just have something creative to do! Felt, paint and plastic spoons are all you will need for this colorful plastic spoon craft.

Do you keep a stock of felt around? Whenever I go to the craft store I grab about ten sheets, different colors each time. There’s so many things to make with felt, it only makes sense to have plenty on hand!

For this project you will need the following supplies:

3 plastic spoons
Paint: yellow and green
Felt: pink, purple, blue, and green
Pattern
Tools: sandpaper, scissors, hot glue gun, paintbrush

Sand the shine off of the plastic spoons.

Paint back side of the bowl of the spoon yellow and the handle green. Repeat for a second coat and allow to dry.

Meanwhile, cut flowers from felt using the pattern provided.

Cut a small hope near the bottom of the petals (see photo).

Insert the spoon handle into the hole in the felt flower. Use hot glue to secure the spoon to the felt. Cut simple leaf shapes from green felt and glue to the front of the flower near the handle (stem).
