Quite often I have an overabundance of cardboard tubes in my craft room. I can’t help it, I just can’t throw them away. With spring officially here, I couldn’t wait any longer to put together a colorful craft for the kids. This adorable cardboard tube craft is super easy and they make for a great puppet show. Pick some colors and get crafting!
I’m calling these featherheads. They could have been birds or even a spin off from those awful troll dolls from years gone by. But I loved how simple and cute they ended up with just feathers and googly eyes!
These also bring back memories of The Muppets. The new movie comes out in theaters today, so the timing of this project is pretty fitting!
I painted my cardboard tubes, but you could also wrap them in construction paper or colored scrapbook paper.
Next glue on the googly eyes.
Pick your feathers. I used contrasting colors, but you could match them if you prefer.
Put some glue inside the top of the tube above where the eyes are and press your feathers into place.
Boom! Instant puppet show. Have fun!
