These Thanksgiving napkin rings are made to look like the outfits that pilgrims wore, but they aren’t the kid’s craft pilgrim napkin rings that you’ve seen around the Internet. These are fun for adults to make using pretty patterned scrapbook paper to add some color to your Thanksgiving table.
These are the kind of craft projects that make me happy. Having to use a toothpick to put something small into place, like the tiny string bows on their collars, relaxes me. Does that sound weird? There’s something about concentrating on a project that gives me satisfaction.
I’ve found that using a long pair of tweezers helps a LOT when working with buttons, sequins, and even googly eyes. So I always have a pair in my pencil can on the craft table.
If you like the glittery Thanksgiving napkins you see in these pictures, you can find my tutorial for those here.
How to Make Thanksgiving Napkin Rings
I’m looking forward to setting the table with these cute napkin rings this year. As my kids get older I have more and more guests to feed. This year is no exception!

As always, a full printable supply list and instructions are at the end of this post.
For this project you will need the following supplies:
- Cardboard tubes, cut into 2-inch pieces
- Scrapbook paper in fall shades
- White card stock
- Small buttons
- White string
- Tools: scissors, white craft glue, cutting board, glue stick
- Print the pattern here
Cut scrapbook paper into 6-inch wide strips, long enough to wrap around the tube. Use glue stick to cover the tube and tuck the excess inside the tube.
Cut white card stock into strips (5 1/2″ x 3/4″) using the pattern provided.
Use glue stick to attach the card stock collar around the top of the tube.
Tie string into small bows and use white craft glue to attach to the collar. A toothpick is helpful for moving the bow around and keeping glue off your fingers.
Glue small buttons to the front below the center of the collar.
Allow the glue to dry completely before using.
I hope you enjoyed this project! Have fun!

These are lovely. I love that they are not the typical kid craft. My girls are getting older and I am looking for things that are a bit more sophisticated now but still quick an easy to make. Thank you.

Thank you Angela! That’s exactly what I was striving for with these :)
