Remedy your chapped lips this winter and spring with a homemade sweet honey, vanilla, and brown sugar lip scrub.

Why we love this project

Our lip scrub is simple to make and only requires 4 ingredients, most of which are probably sitting in your cupboard already!

This scrub combines the typical dry sugar scrub we all know and love with the soothing properties of coconut oil and honey. The coconut oil and honey used in this recipe provide your lips with plenty of moisture that is well needed deep into the chilly winter months (or year-round)!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need to be kept in the fridge?

No, this lip scrub doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge. Though you can certainly refrigerate it if you’d like to, especially if you live in a warmer climate. Be sure the lip scrub is in a dry, cool place with the lid on for keeping.

How long will it keep?

This lip scrub will keep for around 1-2 weeks depending on whether or not you store it in the fridge. Homemade lip scrubs lack the preservatives you find in store-bought scrubs, but remember that you can use this soothing lip scrub daily so it doesn’t go to waste!

What happens if it gets too runny?

If your scrub is overly runny, be sure to move it to a cooler place to help the coconut oil re-solidify. You could also pop it into the refrigerator!

Can I double this recipe?

Yes! You can easily double or triple this recipe. These lip scrubs make awesome gifts for lots of occasions!

I’m not sure, we haven’t used that before. If it behaves the same as regular honey then I would imagine you could.
