How to make a mason jar night light:

  1. Paint the mason jars with the frosted glass paint. You will want to clean your jars well with rubbing alcohol before starting and allow to dry. One coat of paint is fine as you want the light to shine through the jars. Allow the paint to dry completely on your jars before continuing.
  2. Upload the fairy and unicorn files to the software for the cutting machine you are using. You can see how to do that for a Cricut machine here.
  3. Size the designs to fit your mason jars then cut from the holographic vinyl.
  4. Weed away all excess vinyl from around the image as well as any excess on the inside of the design. Weeding tools make this a bit easier but are not required.
  5. Peel the remaining vinyl from the backing paper and add to the front of your mason jar night light.
  6. Remove the solar powered mason jar lid from the packaging and remove the protective piece on the inside. Then screw on top of the mason jar.
  7. Place your night light in any room for a light anytime the lights go out.
