If you’re headed to the beach this summer, chances are your kids will collect a lot of seashells. You can turn a bunch of those shells into cute little tropical fish! So pull out the craft paint to make this cute seashell craft for kids.

Another really fun seashell project are these adorable seashell creatures!

A fun summer craft with all those shells from the beach! Tropical Seashell Fish Craft by Amanda Formaro of Crafts by Amanda

Tropical Seashell Fish

For this project you will need the following supplies:

Seashells
Googly eyes
Hot glue gun
Paint in tropical colors

It doesn’t get much easier. Paint your seashells, choosing smaller shells for tails and fins. Once you have chosen which shells go with which, go ahead and glue them together. Glue googly eyes onto your fish.

I used googly eyes with eyelashes. You can use regular ones. The link above in the supplies goes to some with eyelashes if you’re interested. Have fun with it!

Hi! This is a lovely idea. What kind of paint did you use to get such strong colours? I am looking forward to making these with my 7year old!

I can’t remember the exact paint I used, but it would have been one of two – either Americana acrylic or Craft Smart paint from Michaels :)

Hi Jennifer! I actually didn’t hang mine, but if you were to do so I would say to carefully position some wall putty on them. :)
