Today I am bringing you some comfy, spring goodness with these light crochet sandals for women. They are perfect for warm spring and summer days when you would rather not be barefoot, but socks are too warm.
And they are the perfect adult craft project for the weekend, as they come together nice and quick. Did you make these Crochet Baby Loafers that were featured here recently? Why not give your self a treat this time by making your own crochet sandals!
Crochet Sandals
These pretty crochet sandals were a reader request after I published these chunky gladiator slippers (the chunky version is cozy and even quicker!). If you want a matching pair for baby, I’ve got you covered! Get the free crochet pattern for baby gladiator sandals here.

Construction of Crochet Sandals:
The straps will not be attached at this point.
Attach either of the top straps first. Attach them a few mm above the dc from the first round. Sew them in place with your darning needle and a length of yarn. Once the two top straps are attached, sew the two bottoms one in place. Sew them in an over-under pattern:
Attach them in the middle stitch between the base of the bottom strap and where the top strap is sewn.
Weave in the ends.

Hi These sandals look great. I want to try making with Hemp cord/rope . Not sure if I can get thinner than 4mm just wondering how many meters yours actually took so I can work it out.
Would appreciate it if you would email me
Many thanks Yvonne
Sheila says
I love these, thank you so much for this pattern! I made size 7, fits my size 7.5 (8 when swollen) feet perfectly! I added insoles inbetween the 2 soles for extra padding as I have sore feet. I’m going to make many pairs in a variety of colors and tweek a few stitches on the straps for my foot shape/ size. The pattern is easy to figure out for this, after making my first pair. I used mint green for the soles and beige for the straps. Love, love, love this pattern! Happy feet now Amanda!!!!!!
Tessa says
Hi Amanda,
could you please tell me whether the crochet sandals are American or British sizes?
Many thanks
Amanda Formaro says
American
Joscelyne says
So I got to the body and I am confused. I guess I’m need a YouTube tutorial. 🤦🏻♀️
Kristin says
Well I made them. I usually wear a 9 so I made the size 9. They are like two sizes too big. I followed the pattern to a T but the strap placement is not the same as in the pic. I’ll try again but will do a smaller size and try a different material. They are super cute.
Coolncreative17 says
Wow that’s amazing. You are very talented.
Jordan says
Would you be able to come up with a size 11? I love the design
Tan says
I usually wear a size 8 so I tried that pattern but it is turning out to be too small. If I just make more rounds, adjusting the stitches accordingly, will that work out? I dont want to start over again and also, I dont know which size will fit me.
Kayla says
Do you have a pattern for these in a size 10? I only see up to a size 9. Even the stitch count changes needed to upsize to a 10 would be great. Thank you.
Heather says
What does the * mean the pattern
Kasey says
I’m sorry. But can you explain this? “Starting anywhere, slip stitch the two soles together using your 2nd color of yarn. Tie off. Find the middle of the heel” I’m really confused by this… Does this mean I need to make four souls? I’m sorry!
Amanda Formaro says
Hi Kasey! Yes! You will make 2 for each shoe, so 4 total.
Michella says
I want to download this. I saw the 2 options to do so but it dosent work please help
Amanda Formaro says
Hi, Michella. I’m sorry you are having difficulties downloading. Try clicking here to see if it works. I’ve tried opening the pattern on my end and seems to work fine. I hope this helps!
Lauren says
Thanks for the great pattern! You are creating 4 soles correct?
Deann Fagler says
Hi Bethany,
Love the crochet sandals. In looking at the pattern I didn’t see anything for making the straps. Can you let me know how these are done.
I want to make me a pair real soon
Thank You
Bethany Dearden says
Hello!
The straps are the “Body” section of the pattern. I hope you enjoy making them!
M Thomas says
I’d love to see how you could make these with soles from flip flops… I’ve seen a few other patterns for sandals that do that, but I really love the look of these.
Lucie Bugay says
How about smaller feet? I wear size 5/6. How would you you adjust the pattern? These are super cute!
Bethany Dearden says
Thanks! The easiest way would be to use a smaller hook, then you wouldn’t have to make any adjustments. Try 1-2 hook sizes smaller.
Maryna says
So I usually wear a size 10 or 11, so what would be the best way to adjust the pattern? Should I just compare and add stitches where necessary…I’ve only been crocheting for a year so any suggestions would be great . Thanks
Bethany Dearden says
The easiest way would be to go up a hook size! You wouldn’t need to change any stitches that way :)
Cathy says
Any chance you would make a video step by step tutorial?
Bethany Dearden says
Yes I can! Subscribe to my Youtube to get notifications.

I tried to find a video for this, but I can’t seem to find it.
Cheyenne says
I looked on your YouTube channel and didnt see this video?
Amanda Formaro says
There isn’t a video available for this pattern, sorry!
Barb Walton says
Is there a print button for this pattern that I am just not seeing?? The copy and paste option is not working at all and I am far from ready to start on these. What do you suggest to get this copy from my computer to my pattern stash???
Thanks kindly!
Barb Walton
Amanda Formaro says
Hi, Barb! We’ve updated the post to include the downloadable pattern. You can find it twice throughout the post now, it reads “You can download and print the pattern here” Best of luck!! :)
Veronica says
I’ve tried the size 8 pattern twice, and failed both times. I feel like I’m adding or losing stitches somewhere, but my counts are accurate. Help?
Bethany Dearden says
Which step is tripping you up?
nancy says
I’m having the same problem. I have the 74 stitches on rnd 3, but once I’m on rnd 4 I have way more than 82 stitches.
virginia taylor says
I love these and I am looking to see if I can put on a premade sole. to be able to wear them more places.
Bethany Dearden says
I am working on ways to make this happen, but haven’t decided on the best method yet! Stay tuned.
Heidi says
What yarn do you suggest and do you do something to reinforce the bottoms? These are so cute!
Bethany Dearden says
I used Knit Pick Brava, and I originally wrote the pattern to be a slipper/house shoe only, but I have gotten lots of request to make them into shoes, so I am working on it :)
Anita says
I could not find a good way to print this pattern. It would not allow me to copy and paste into Word. Too bad. It looks like a fun pattern.
