Duct tape is your lifesaver when it comes to Halloween costumes. I’ve already shown you this super easy spiderweb costume made from duct tape, and the bullseye costume and prisoner costume; all of which are made from duck tape. So next I’m going to show you how to quickly put together a duct tape skeleton costume!
Skeleton Costume from Duct Tape
All you need for this costume is some black clothing and white (or glow in the dark) Duck tape. This is seriously so easy I almost feel like instructions aren’t needed! You can look at the photos and see how to place the “bones”.
This skeleton costume project comes from my book, Duct Tape Mania, which was released a couple of years ago. There are about 50 different duct tape crafts that you can make and it would be the perfect holiday gift for a special child in your life!
You will need:
- Black clothing
- White duct tape
- Cutting mat
- Craft knife
If you aren’t sure how to cut duct tape using a cutting mat, please check out the step by step instructions from my prisoner costume to get an idea.
- First dress your child in black clothing. Cut duct tape into strips and stick to the shirt as ribs. Run a long narrow strip down the center of the shirt separating the ribs.
- Cut thin strips and stick to the shirt for arms, shoulder blades and legs.
- Cut elongated triangles for the hip bones.
That’s it! Super easy peasy skeleton costume. Trick or treat!

Hi, great idea for a simple costume! I am wondering – have you ever tried removing the tape to use the clothes normally afterwards? I’m wondering if there would be a ton of residue or not. Thanks!
