Want to give a gift this spring? Or maybe you have a gardening lover in your life? Either way, a fairy garden mason jar topper is the perfect way to package up small gifts. Candy, bath salts, and so much more can be added to these cute jars and they are super easy to make!

Fairy Garden Mason Jar Toppers

Fairy Garden Mason Jar Toppers

Adding cute miniatures under a dome top allows you to create a cute scene on the top of a mason jar. That leaves the entire jar open for your gift. Here we are using candy but I am sure you can think of other small gifts that will work here as well.

Supplies needed to make a fairy garden topped mason jar:

  • Mason jars with lids
  • Plastic Christmas ornament halves (70 mm size for regular mouth jars)
  • Assorted miniatures
  • Moss
  • Hot glue and a glue gun
  • Jute twine
  • Scissors
  • Candy or another gift idea

Instructions:

  1. Remove the lid and band from your jar and hot glue the two pieces together.
  2. Add moss to the top of the lid with hot glue. Be sure to cover the top completely.
  3. Add miniatures of your choice to the top with additional hot glue. You can use as many or as few as you would like. Just be sure that they are not too tall and your ornament half will fit over the top.
  4. Then place the ornament half on the top of your lid and secure with hot glue.
  5. Remove any excess moss around the edges with your scissors.
  6. Start wrapping twine around the bottom of the lid covering the joint where the ornament meets the lid. Use hot glue to secure the twine.
  7. You will also want to trim the hanger off the ornament with scissors as well.
  8. Completely wrap the bottom of the lid to hide it. Secure the end with hot glue.
  9. Fill the jar with your gift and add the decorated lid to the top.

Everyone will love getting one of these cute jars! Mother’s Day is fast approaching and I know mom would love a cute gift in a fairy garden topped mason jar.

Mix and match the miniatures you add to the inside to suit what your gift recipient loves. There are so many cute miniatures out there that I am sure you can find something that will look cute in your jar. You will probably want to pick up quite a few and make a fairy garden topped mason jar for everyone on your list.

Can’t wait for the shops to re-open so I can buy the items that I haven’t got to make a Fairy garden Mason jar.
Such a wonderful idea. Thank you Amanda.
