All of our paint colors are from the Americana® Multi- Surface™ Premium Satin Paint line, as well as the DecoArt® Extreme Sheen™ in the color Pink Tourmaline.
How to Make a Photo Holder for Mom
These step by step photos and instructions are here to help you visualize how to make this project. Please scroll down to simply print out the instructions!
- Paint the surface of the wood plaque using White Birch. Let it dry and add an extra coat of paint if needed for better coverage.
- Paint the centers of each wooden letter “M” using Pink Cadillac. Let it dry and add an extra coat of paint if needed for better coverage.
- Paint the letter “O” using Soft Jade.
- Paint the upper half of one “M” using Turf Green and the lower half in Soft Jade.
- Paint the second “M” using Soft Jade for the upper half and the lower half in Flamingo.
- Dip the back end of the 1” paintbrush in Extreme Sheen’s Pink Tourmaline and dab small circles randomly over all the painted Soft Jade sections.
- Once the paint is dry, use wood glue to secure the letters onto the painted plaque centering the letters on the upper half side of the plaque.
- Center the binder clips below the letters and glue in place with a generous amount of wood glue. Let the glue dry before using.
- Lastly, attach picture hanging hardware to the backside of the plaque to hang on the wall.
- Attach photos to sign for display.

Supplies
- Pine rectangle plaque 14” wide x 11” high
- “MOM” Artminds white letters 4.75” high
- Set of 3 metal binder photo clips in rose gold
- 1” flat paintbrush
- Fine tip paint brushes in assorted sizes and shapes
- Wood glue
- Picture hanging hardware
Americana Multi-Surface Acrylic Paints
- Turf Green
- Soft Jade
- White Birch
- Flamingo
- Pink Cadillac
DecoArt Extreme Sheen Paint
- Pink Tourmaline
Instructions

Expert Tips & FAQs
- You do not have to prime or seal the wooden letters before/after painting them.
- Allow at least a few hours after finishing your photo holder for the paint to fully dry before wrapping up or gifting. The longer you give it to dry and set, the better!
