Though they can look scary, Wookiees are actually pretty gentle and loyal creatures. Don’t provoke them though, as they can get a little snarly! Use these adorable Wookiee Finger Puppets during your storytime routine or as imaginative play for kids!

FUN FACT: Did you know the proper way to spell Chewbacca’s species is Wookiee, not Wookie?

Spark their imaginations and bring them into the world of Star Wars with these wookiee finger puppets!

What you need to make Wookiee Finger Puppets:

  • Brown felt
  • 2 small googly eyes
  • Scrap of black felt
  • Small brown pom pom
  • White paint
  • Toothpick
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

How to make Wookie Finger Puppets from Star Wars step 2 and 3

Run some glue along the edges of the felt and fold in half to create the initial puppet. Use scissors to cut long triangles in the bottom of the puppet.

How to make Wookie Finger Puppets from Star Wars step 4

Cut a small oval from black felt and glue to the center of the puppet. Glue a brown pom-pom directly above the black oval.

How to make Wookie Finger Puppets from Star Wars step 5 and 6

Glue googly eyes above the pom pom. Cut two eyebrows from blown felt and glue in place. Use a toothpick dipped in white paint to add teeth to the black oval.

These wookie finger puppets let your child dive into creative play in the world of Star Wars!

Now you can put on your Wookiee Finger Puppets and play! Aren’t they cute? They’re sort of like mini felt versions of my Chewbacca Craft from a Paint Stir Stick!

If you’re throwing a Star Wars themed birthday party, these Wookiee finger puppets would make the perfect little addition to the goodie bags (you can make these super easy Jedi Party Favor Bags!) Don’t forget about my Jedi Water Bottle Covers for a star wars party as well.

If you’re using your Wookiee Finger Puppets during storytime, make your own Lightsaber Bookmarks to save your spot!
