This fluffy pom pom snowman is a fun winter craft that you can enjoy no matter what the weather – no snow required! This pom pom craft is a fun and easy kid’s craft, with all kinds of creative leeway for little artists to create their own face and accessories.

This fluffy pom pom snowman is a fun winter craft for kids. It's easy to make and uses craft supplies you likely have around the house already.

 

Make a Pom Pom Snowman

Snowman crafts are great for snow days or other winter days that are too yucky to play outside. This project can also be done with cotton balls instead of pom poms! There are endless possibilities for embellishing the basic snowman – this is a great time to dig the scraps out of your stash and use them up.

This fluffy pom pom snowman is a fun winter craft for kids. It's easy to make and uses craft supplies you likely have around the house already.

Supplies Needed to Make a Pom Pom Snowman

  • 3″ Styrofoam egg
  • 2″ Styrofoam ball
  • Toothpick
  • Foam cup
  • Flat marbles
  • Medium white pom-poms
  • 2 medium red pom-poms
  • 1 medium orange pom-pom
  • 2 small pink pom-poms
  • 2 miniature black pom-poms
  • 7 tiny black pom-poms
  • 3 medium green pom-poms
  • 1 gold pipe cleaner
  • 1″ wide strip of green felt
  • White craft glue
  • Hot glue gun

Cut the large end off the Styrofoam egg to give the bottom a flat surface. Insert toothpick into Styrofoam ball, then insert the ball and toothpick into the round end of the egg.

Using white craft glue, cover the entire ball and egg with white pom-poms.

Turn foam cup upside down and hot glue flat marbles around the inside rim of the foam cup. This will give the bottom of your snowman some weight so that he doesn’t fall over.

Pom Pom Snowman

Supplies

  • INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Pom Pom Snowman
  • 3 " Styrofoam egg
  • 2 " Styrofoam ball
  • Toothpick
  • Foam cup
  • Flat marbles
  • Medium white pom-poms
  • 2 medium red pom-poms
  • 1 medium orange pom-pom
  • 2 small pink pom-poms
  • 2 miniature black pom-poms
  • 7 tiny black pom-poms
  • 3 medium green pom-poms
  • 1 gold pipe cleaner
  • 1 " wide strip of green felt
  • White craft glue
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions

  • Cut the large end off the Styrofoam egg to give the bottom a flat surface. insert toothpick into Styrofoam ball, then insert the ball and toothpick into the round end of the egg.
  • Using white craft glue, cover the entire ball and egg with white pom-poms.
  • Turn foam cup upside down and hot glue flat marbles around the inside rim of the foam cup. This will give the bottom of your snowman some weight so that he doesn't fall over.
  • Glue the flat end of the egg to the bottom of the foam cup. Cover the foam cup with white pom poms.
  • Carefully pull on both ends of the felt strip to stretch its length. Be careful not to pull too hard or it will split in half. Fringe the ends with scissors and wrap around the snowman's neck, securing with white glue.
  • Glue pom-poms on to face (orange for nose, pink for cheeks, black for mouth and eyes). Glue green pom-poms on as buttons.
  • Bend pipe cleaner in half and twist it together Bend the ends to shorten the pipe cleaner and hot glue the red pom-poms to the ends of the pipe cleaner to create ear muffs. Glue to the top of the snowman's head.
