Craft Stick Photo Frame

 

Handmade gifts are always the most meaningful! This year for Father’s Day (great for Mother’s Day or a birthday too!) make this special keepsake craft stick photo frame. if you make this homemade frame for dad, he’s sure to cherish it and keep it on his desk or in his toolbox.

Craft Stick Photo Frame

Dominic and I actually made this craft stick frame many years ago. The photo you see in this craft stick photo frame was from “pee wee” football when he was in first grade. Dominic will be graduating from high school one year from now! While we went with a football theme for our craft stick frame, you could switch it up however you like. This would be a sweet homemade gift perfect for Father’s Day, Mother’s Day or even a summer birthday. It would even make a cute decoration for your child’s room.

Supplies you will need:

• 8 craft sticks
• Photograph
• Thin cardboard (cereal box works great)
• Glue stick
• Acrylic craft paint
• Stickers
• Yarn
• White craft glue

Things you may find helpful:

1. Smocks to keep the kids from messing up their clothes
2. Mugs or heavy bowls for water so they aren’t easily spilled
3. Paper towels
4. Newspaper or a plastic or vinyl tablecloth to cover the work surface

How to make it:

Line up craft sticks in pairs. Place them together in a square and use that to determine how to trim your photo to fit. Remove photo and glue the craft stick together in the shape of a frame.

Trace photo onto cardboard and cut out.

Attach photo to the cardboard with glue stick.

When frame has dried paint it and let it dry.

Decorate frame with stickers.

Turn frame upside down and glue the photo in place.

Cut a piece of yarn and glue it at both ends to the back to use as a hanger.
