Here’s a fun project for Thanksgiving the kids will love! They can make these sweet little fingerprint turkey napkin rings from colored cardstock and paint! You can personalize each one so they will also act as place settings for the kid’s table.

Fingerprint Turkey Napkin Rings

Fingerprint crafts are always fun. Like my Daddy and Me Coffee Mug made from fingerprints, they make great gifts and sweet mementos. I’m sure your children have brought home their share of cute crafts using fingerprints from school. So today, I thought we could do another fingerprint craft for Thanksgiving.

These fingerprint turkey napkin rings are perfect for your Thanksgiving table, or if you’d like, just for the kids’ table. They’ll love to show off their colorful creations to the family!

What you’ll need to make Fingerprint Turkey Napkin Rings

Because this craft uses paint, it might not be one that you want to deal with on Thanksgiving day. I suggest having the kids make these a day or two beforehand to get ready for the big family meal.

  • Cardstock
  • Acrylic paints in fall colors plus black and white
  • Small paintbrush
  • Toothpick
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • White paint pen

  1. First, you’ll need to print out the pattern. Use the pattern to cut out your templates from card stock.
  2. Kids will dip their fingers in acrylic paint and press them onto the feather areas on the template. Alternate colors as you go. Have kids use their thumb or forefinger to make the body and head with brown paint. Set aside to dry.
  3. When dry, use the handle end of a paintbrush to add white eyes.
  4. Use a toothpick dipped in orange paint to add the beaks.
  5. Dip the toothpick in red paint to add the gobblers. Let everything dry.
  6. After the white eyes have dried completely, use a toothpick to dot black onto the eyes.
  7. Use a white paint pen to write your guests’ names on the turkey’s body.
  8. Trim the ends of the napkin ring depending on the size of your napkins.
  9. Coil the card stock into a ring and use a glue stick to hold together. Roll up the napkin and insert into the napkin ring.

Hi – I just wanted to let you know that I found these on a blog called Stagetecture. I don’t want to leave you the link, because I don’t want to direct traffic her way. If you look it up on FB, and scroll through the pictures, you will see yours. If you click on the link, you will see that she has copied all of your images and tutorial, with a little (via) link as the only credit. Not cool! Anyway, wasn’t sure if you knew about it (we only found out because she stole my friend Jills beaded napkin rings) so I wanted to give you a heads up! :)
