How to Make a Halloween Terrarium
These step by step photos and instructions are here to help you visualize how to make this project. Please scroll down to simply print out the instructions!
- Start by placing your fence inside the glass canister. If you want lights inside the jar, I suggest wrapping them around the fence before putting the fence in.
- Add your main structure, in our case it’s a haunted house.
- Place a couple inches of pebbles the bottom around the house. Make them nice and snug.
- Position moss over the rocks.
- Add any small figures, like our witch, gravestones, and pumpkins.
- Hang ghosts from canister lid or rim.
Expert Crafting Tips
- We did not glue our items in place. We did this so we could change the items at any time. However, if you prefer they stay still, you can certainly glue everything together. I would suggest a strong glue like E6000.
- Be sure to check thrift stores for orphaned glass canisters.
- You can make some of your own miniatures, like trees from black spray paint and twigs.
This Halloween Terrarium is a great decoration for your fireplace mantel or as part of a spooky centerpiece.
