Add some pretty storage and organization to your bathroom with these beautiful and beach themed mason jar canisters. You can even change them up and make kitchen canisters instead. Either way, this DIY mason jar canister set is a fun and useful project.
You could change the paint color on our mason jar soap dispenser to match these as well.
I don’t know about you but even after cleaning it, my bathroom counter quickly becomes a drop zone. Even though they have their own bathroom, the kids often drop all their hair ties, clothing and even toys there!

- Soft, flat paintbrush
- Fine sandpaper (i.e. 220 grit)
- Glass cabinet knobs
- E6000 adhesive glue

How to Make Coastal Mason Jar Canisters
Start by thoroughly cleaning the inside and outside of your mason jars if they’ve been previously used.
With a soft paintbrush paint one coat of Chalky Finish paint on each jar in different colors. Let dry completely.
In the meantime, glue the glass knob onto the top of the mason jar lid. If needed, glue the disc into the lid ring. Let dry completely.
Lightly sand the mason jars to distress them at any raised points or edges.
Attach a 10mm jump ring to hoop of each charm (makes it easier to string onto the twine).
Wrap a piece of twine around the neck of the mason jar three times and tie a knot. Add a charm and then tie a bow.
Place the lid on the jar and you’re done!
I just love how these mason jar canisters turned out. I may just have to make another set for our beach-themed bathroom at the cottage.
